The state of the music industry.

This.  So very much this.

While I think this is awesome and hilarious, I also think this is every ounce of truth as far as where it needs to go.  As much as I love my record and CD collection, it’s very clear that the music industry (and film and television I suppose) is moving towards digital content as the primary delivery method.
Any why not?  It’s much faster and easier to get material out.  No need to wait months.  As an indie artist, if you want your material in the hands of your fans, give it to them, quickly.  
Selling physical copies of albums really makes it hard for small bands or indie artists to make a profit.  Selling downloads is more direct.  And with services like Bandcamp, or TuneCore, it’s easy to get your material out there for a price you want it to be.
